Jan 11, 2022

On 31 December 2021, the Government of South Australia established the Business Hardship Grant to provide assistance to those businesses impacted by health restrictions in place from 27 December 2021

Eligible employing businesses will be provided with a once-off $6,000 grant.

A further grant of $2,000 will be available for eligible businesses that operate from a commercial premise located in the Adelaide CBD.

Details can be found at the attached link.

In brief, businesses must be registered for GST and the level of support depends on the Industry they operate in and whether they have employees.

Businesses who don’t operate in one of the nominated Industries, may still qualify for support under the Business Hardship Grant.

The key condition to qualify for this Grant will be a reduction in turnover of at least 50 per cent for the consecutive two-week period between 27 December 2021 (beginning of restrictions) and 9 January 2022 when compared to the same two-week period (i.e. 27 December to 9 January) in 2019-20.
