Job Accelerator Grant Scheme

Highlights of the Job Accelerator Grant include:-

  • A grant of up to $10,000 per new full-time equivalent job created in SA between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2018;
  • The grant is payable over two years, the first $5,000 on the first anniversary of the date of employment, followed by a second $5,000 paid on the second anniversary;
  • Eligible employers must be registered for payroll tax in SA; and
  • Eligible employers must have a payroll of less than or equal to $5 million.

Highlights of the Job Accelerator Grant for Small Business & Start-ups include:-

  • A grant of up to $4,000 per new job created in SA between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2018;
  • The grant is payable over two years, the first $2,000 on the first anniversary of the date of employment, followed by a second $2,000 paid on the second anniversary;
  • Eligible employers must not be liable for payroll tax in SA; and
  • Eligible employers include those employers that have a payroll of less than $600,000 (the current payroll tax free threshold) or are exempt from payroll tax (ie. public benevolent institutions).

Additional requirements for both grants include:-

  • All Businesses must register a new employee within 90 days of the commencement of the employment;
  • The employment commences between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2018 inclusive;
  • The employment must be on a new full-time, part-time or casual basis, but not on a seasonal basis;
  • The employment is maintained for a period of at least two years to be eligible to receive the full grant, or at least 12 months to be eligible for a partial grant;
  • The employment services must be provided either wholly or mainly in SA; and
  • The employee must be a South Australian resident.
